Baby Doll

This is such a fun dress to wear its so voluminous all you want to do is twirl around. The dress is from H and M and has a beautiful lace beaded panel at the top, it sort of reminded me of the D and G Spring/Summer 2011.

To make this dress more me I added a little pair of lace ankle socks and my Jessica Simpson Dany platforms. The jewellery is from markets and my jacket is from Miss Selfridge.

I have a reading week at the moment, which means a whole 2 weeks off J just the rest I needed after completing my portfolio, thanks for all your supporting comments.

Dennis the Menace

This is my “Dennis the Menace” jumper, I was sent it by the lovely people at AX Paris. It is truly one of the most cozy knits I have ever owned, its brilliant for throwing on when its absolutely freezing In my uni room.

I teamed it with a little pair of lace shorts from H and M that were £6 in the sale; my JC tardy’s with little black lace ankle socks and a Forever 21 beanie. This outfit to me is a very subtle nod to 90's grunge.

The floral cross necklace is from Mango and the rings are from many random places. The little fingernail ring is from EBay.

Posting has been really hard at the moment because I have my portfolio deadline on Friday! Its driving me crazy but I’m sure I will get it all finished and printed on time J

Leopard Motel

I’m a little late with this post…. I feel awful, Motel sent me this gorgeous dress a while ago and till now I haven’t had time to take pictures and blog about it.

Better late than never J

As some of you may remember I was lucky enough to be invited to the Motel Bloggers event where I met some of my favourite bloggers and stuffed my face with cupcakes and candyfloss. As seen in this post.

Anyway this little shift dress is what I chose as my favourite item. It’s the perfect length for me and can easily be worn as a day or evening dress!

Here I mixed it up a bit by teaming the dress with my Topshop body chain and my Acne Pixel boots. Body chains and adornments are everywhere at the moment, i know i was very inspired by the Chanel Pre-fall 2012 show. also my Indian head ring was a lucky find from Camden market, I've wanted one for ages.

Uni is very busy after the Christmas holz! We have to blog about our New York trip and complete our portfolios for the 27th of Jan so I need to get back into the swing of doing work!

Hope everyone is having a great week so far J

Back from the "Big City"

I’m back from New York and now all moved back into my uni room in Nottingham.

The holidays went so fast but I’m pleased to be back (even though last night I spent a good 30mins standing in the cold outside as someone had set the fire alarm off.. oh well ).

Here are some pictures of what I bought on my travels. I know it wasn’t a shopping trip it was educational but it was very hard looking round at shops visual merchandising all day without giving in and indulging in a bit of retail therapy.

These items are from a selection of stores: American Apparel, Urban Outfitters, Forever 21, boutiques and markets in Soho.

I was most pleased with the AA black shawl cardigan that I got in an AA warehouse store at half the retail price J.
The grey marbled piece is a beautiful scarf that can be worn in so many different ways.
The lighter garment is a lovely drop back cardigan that I can tell will be a favourite.
Now for the jewellery: I loved the way the stone necklace had the stiching and chain detail, the little snake ring is worn on the top of the finger (any way I can get more rings on is good for me), and the pointed silver necklace reminded me of the type designed  by Pamela Love.

I also won this bracelet when we went to visit the Ann inc headquarters.
Outfit post soon and thank you for all your lovely comments on my previous post!

Grey & Green

I’m still in New York at the moment and have scheduled this post. I’m sure to have loads of NY updates and pictures for you guys when I get back J

This Topshop skirt was a fast sell out, and when I saw it in my local Topshop in Nottingham I had to have it.

I love the deep green colour with the little velvet dots. As a pencil skirt is a bit more formal than my usual style I have paired it with chunky platforms and a baggy knit from Republic.

I’m also debuting my new turban from H and M. Ever since turbans popped up on Prada’s runway, I thought it would be rather useful particularly on bad hair days. I wasn't even put off when my friend said she thought I would look like Professor Quirrell from “Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone” with it on!

Rays

I hope everyone has had a great Christmas and New Year! Sorry its so late, with all the goings on and being at home I’ve been a bit distracted from the blogging world.

I will share my Christmas prezzies with you soon J I got a few things from my Christmas wish list… sadly not the Alexander Wang bag, but that was a long shot.

These pictures where taken on a day when it was a lot less gloomy.

The animalistic top is from Topshop, the fluid metallic skirt is primark (yes primark!!) the leather jacket is Miss Selfridge and the clogs are JC’s.

Oh and how could I forget …. Tomorrow I go to NEW YORK!
It’s the first major trip on my Fashion Communication and Promotion course at uni. Can’t say it’s going to feel like work looking around beautiful shops at their visual merchandising. I CANT WAIT … Prada and Balenciaga here I come J
